Just a quick post today, but WOW. I got this album in the mail and it is seriously kicking my ass. Solar Corona’s “Lightning One” is a very heavy instrumental rock album with hints of Black Sabbath, New Order, and Jimi Hendrix, plus a few other influences that are just on the tip of my tongue. At once new and familiar, it blasts along at full throttle and doesn’t quit. This may be my favourite new heavy album of 2019.
Solar Corona are a four-piece from Barcelos, Portugal, released on the Porto-based indie label Lovers & Lollypops. If you like your rock heavy, instrumental, and psychedelic, check this out, and buy it if you like it.
